Health and Emergency

There are health facilities on Hvar, including a new health centre in Jelsa, but more serious cases are referred to the mainland, and the helicopter service between the island and Split Hospital is excellent.

If you need dental or medical treatment, make sure you have the necessary documents with you, including your passport. In some cases you may need to pay a fee.
