There are many taxi drivers in the main towns of the island, and it can be cost-effective to make arrangements with one of them for your transport needs during your stay, whether for shopping or sightseeing. Many of the taxi drivers have mini-buses which can accommodate groups for tours around places of interest or trips to the beach or dinner. Among the lesser-known possibilities for independent transport are the private transfers offered by some of the tour agencies.
