Anyone for Tennis? Gariful Hvar ATP Open Dates Announced

April is shaping up to be an interesting time on Hvar, with the month starting with the traditional Easter festivities and Za Krizem religious procession, and Suncani Hvar are offering a 4-day special at leading hotel, Adriana. Immediately after Easter, however, attention turns to the tennis courts at the Gariful Sports Center for the 2012 ATP Hvar Women's Open.

The event, with a first prize of $10,000, will take place from April 10-15, with qualifying from April 7-9, and is one of three ATP events in quick succession to take place on the Adriatic under the umbrella of Pearls of Dalmatia, Bol and Sibenik being the other venues.

The Hvar Open is organised by the island's most exclusive fish restaurant, Gariful, which also runs the sports centre where the tournament is to be held. Participating hotels for the tournament include Hotel Park and Hotel Palace, which will be offering special rates for the tournament.
