Hvar 2012 Ends as it Began: Happy and Sunny New Year from Jelsa

While many people partied through the night on New Year's Eve a year ago, the folks at Suncokret Body and Soul retreat in Dol had other ideas, rising early and hiking to the peak of the island to greet the first sunrise of 2012. It was a spectacular start to the day, and I used one of their photos in a Google News item that day called Croatia's Sunniest Island Starts Year with... Sunshine.

A year goes by, but some things don't change, such as the terrace view in a t-shirt early morning on December 31 in Jelsa on the island of Hvar. Lovely.
