The Sun is Out, the Sea is Calm: Get Kayaking!

There are plenty of things to discover on Hvar and there are many adventurous ways of exploring the island. A very popular combination is to hop into a kayak and wander into the fabulous natural treasures that are the Pakleni Islands, an active and very rewarding daily excursion from Hvar Town. Go and find a hidden beach to return to at a later date. One of Hvar's strongest and most popular agencies, Hvar Adventure, has a range of kayaking options to suit all needs.

One of the most popular trips is their standard half-day kayaking tour from 10:00 - 14:30, with lunch included.
The starting point of the kayaking tour is the town of Hvar. You set off to the group of small islands called the Pakleni. The origin of the name goes back to old days when the islands were the main source of rosin for local shipbuilders.

Today, just like then, the islands are covered with thick pine woods providing refreshing shade even during the hottest summer days. The route through narrow straits and along the islands reveals small hidden pebble beaches where you can enjoy the privilege of having, at least temporarily, a beach of your own, where you can swim, snorkel (gear included) and relax.

Those in their best shape could kayak all the way to the well-known beach of Palmižana on the nearby island of Sveti Klement.
Lunch in a restaurant on the beach and return to Hvar at around 2pm.

The price is 350 kn per person, lunch included. To find out more details and to book, visit the Hvar Adventure website, or go and say hello in their very friendly office just the other side of the Arsenal opposite the cafés on Hvar's main square.

If kayaking is not your thing, they have an impressinve range of other activities, including sailing, climbing, hiking and cycling.

The route for the standard kayak daily package is shown below.

All equipment is well-maintained and the kayak fleet was upgraded recently, with all these new additions - be one of the first to road test them...
